DETECTIVES in Swansea have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery at a city supermarket.

The man has been arrested in relation to an armed robbery at the CK's Foodstores, in Waunarlwydd, on December 9.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "A man entered the store and threatened the assistant with a knife and demanded money from the till before making off from the property."

The police force confirmed that "several hundred pounds" were stolen from the store in the incident

The man was taken into custody at Swansea Central Police Station.
