The career of a teacher described as “gifted and dedicated” lies in ruins after he was convicted of five child porn offences.
Mark Haslock, 47, was head of engineering, design and technology at Ysgol y Grango secondary school at Rhos.
Judge Peter Heywood put off sentencing until the New Year to allow time for a probation report to be prepared.
He warned Haslock, of Elwy Gardens, Llandudno: “I want you to understand all sentencing options including an immediate prison sentence will be considered by me.”
Haslock was found guilty at Caernarfon Crown Court of five child porn charges but cleared of voyeurism.
He had claimed he had not seen the images and they must have appeared accidentally while he was downloading as many as 400 documents a month.
Judge Heywood had told the jury it was the prosecution view Haslock had an unhealthy interest in child pornography.
“It’s the defence case he did not intentionally make or possess these indecent photographs and had no interest in them.”
It had been alleged 1,207 indecent images of children had been recovered, 288 of the most graphic category.
