The 'School Bag Challenge' involves hurling bags at a fellow pupil or using bags to hit them with
This is the violent new school craze that has parents concerned and led to a warning from a children's charity.
The so-called ‘school-bag challenge’ sees a gang of pupils targeting one pupil and using their school bags to hit them or throw at them.
The footage above shows a group of students throwing their bags at a fellow pupil who is curled up on the floor.
The video - in which the pupil on the floor appears to be trying to protect himself from being hurt - emerged from an English school.
The NSPCC has warned how modern technology is contributing to bullying issues.
Chief executive Peter Wanless said: “Years ago a child could escape the bullying when they left the playground and get some respite in the safety of their home.
“Now the 24/7 nature of the internet means that a child can be targeted around the clock.”
One student said they were disgusted by the video. The 18-year-old said: “That’s terrible. The person clearly looks hurt.
“I don’t understand how this can be called a new craze. I think it’s disgusting.
“All the boys used to play a slam game against the wall, where they would kick a ball and a line of people stand there and they have to hit the ball on their backsides. So this doesn’t surprise me.”
