Police are appealing for information after a fight broke out involving two drivers and a group of young people at a village train station.
Officers from British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses after a fight erupted outside Pontlottyn train station, near Rhymney , on Monday, December 5, at around 6.40pm.
Police said the driver of a car and a van driver had a disagreement, before it escalated and erupted into a violent altercation – which also involved a group of youths who were also waiting outside the station.
'This was a violent confrontation'
Both vehicles were damaged and the driver of the car suffered minor cuts and swelling to his face as a result of the incident.
Officers are now appealing for information to try to understand what happened.
Investigating officer PC Leighton Rivers said: “This was a violent confrontation which ended with a man sustaining injuries and two cars requiring expensive repairs.
'I need the help of the public'
“We are working hard to establish exactly what transpired and I need the help of the public. Were you at the station, did you see what happened? Please get in touch, your information could be vitally important.”
