Jamie Hannah from St Asaph pleaded guilty to criminal damage at the Jolly Sailor pub
A man phoned the police control room as he hurled a brick through the £700 leaded window of a pub.
Jamie Hannah of Glascoed Road, St Asaph pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage at the Jolly Sailor pub at Prestatyn, at a weekend court in Llandudno.
Gareth Parry, prosecuting, said the window was smashed during the early hours of Friday.
When Hannah phone North Wales Police he told the control room that “people were after him”, Mr Parry added.
Alex Fitzgerald, defending, said Hannah carried out the act of vandalism to get himself into custody.
The court heard that Hannad had mental health issues and there had been a delay in taking medication.
He was ordered to pay £700 compensation and £235 in a fine and costs.
The cash will be deducted from his benefit.
