Prestatyn,North Wales - Man admits arson attack on Prestatyn flat

A businessman has admitted an arson attack on a flat in Prestatyn.

Richard Pentreath, 63, of Station Road, Bishop’s Gate, Gloucestershire, who was formerly known as Hilary Clifford Thomas, pleaded guilty to arson, being reckless as to whether life would be endangered.
But he denied arson intending to endanger life following the fire on October 6, and a second charge of attempting to take revenge on a witness who evidence against him over rape and indecent assault allegations.
The prosecution allege that he set fire to premises where he believed the witness lived but got the wrong address.
Judge Rhys Rowlands remanded Pentreath in custody pending trial in May of next year. It is expected to last two days.
Pentreath appeared at Mold Crown Court via a live television link from Altcourse Prison.
