Bridgend,South Wales - Thieves broke into a garage and took the wheels off a £30,000 VW Golf GTi then left it balanced on STONES

They broke into a secure compound to steal the alloy wheels, worth around £2,500

Thieves stole all four 19-inch alloy wheels off this mark seven VW Golf GTi and left it balanced on stones in the rear compound of Sinclair Volkswagen in Bridgend
Stunned car sales staff have appealed for help after they were met with this sight when they turned up for work.
A nearly-new mark seven Volkswagen Golf GTi, worth approximately £30,000, had been left balanced on stones and a jack after thieves entered a secure compound and stole all four 19-inch alloy wheels.
When they broke into the secure rear yard at Sinclair Volkswagen in Tremains Road, Bridgend , on Saturday night, the thieves smashed the driver's side window to enable them to open the car bonnet and silence the car alarm.
Then they got the car jack and locking wheel nuts out of the boot and removed the four wheels.

The thieves also removed a special car distance sensor from the front of the vehicle.
Brand manager Nicky Boyce said he believes the vehicle had been used as a "donor car", with parts stolen specifically for another Golf.
South Wales Police have launched an investigation and Nicky is appealing for anyone with information to contact officers.
"We came into the business on Sunday morning and opened up and then went around the back to look at some stock that had come in and found the Golf GTi up on stones and a jack," he said.
He said the compound has high security gates, fencing and CCTV, which is now being checked by their security company.
Nicky believes the thieves must have taken the stolen parts away in a vehicle.
The car was also damaged underneath by the stones and, with the smashed window and stolen wheels, will cost upwards of £4,000 to repair.
A police spokeswoman said: "South Wales Police is investigating the theft of four alloy wheels, worth approximately £2,500, from a Volkswagen Golf at Sinclair Garages Bridgend, on Tremains Road.
"Significant damage was also caused to the car during the theft, which occurred sometime between 5pm on Saturday, December 3, and 12.15pm on Sunday, December 4.
"Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police via 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 1600468019."
