Penarth,South Wales - A man went to de-ice his Mercedes and found it covered in white paint

Adam Steer returned to his seven-month old Mercedes SLK on Thursday morning to find this

This was the scene after two black cars were vandalised with white paint on Thursday.
Adam Steer returned to his car after visiting friends in Penarth to find paint thrown all over it and his friend’s car and he said both were “undriveable”.
Adam, 33, who works for an animal rescue centre, added: “I was shocked and angry and couldn’t believe what had happened. Nothing like this has happened to me before.”

Adam was preparing to set off for his home in Somerset from his friend’s house in Cosmeston Street at around 6.15am and went out to his car to de-ice it.
But the shocked owner found his Mercedes SLK and his friend’s black Audi A3 covered in the paint – which he said was still wet, so he suspected the incident had only happened minutes before – so he called the police.

Adam said while waiting for officers to arrive they also found a paint pot nearby, which he gave to police when they arrived.
He visits Penarth every few weeks and was set to return to Somerset on Thursday morning.
But he said the car, which is only seven months old, couldn’t be driven so was picked up on a transporter lorry and brought back to Somerset.

Adam said he had not yet been able to resolve the situation and the paint is still on the car and he now has to take it to a garage to get a quote for the damage.
Adam added: “I feel disgusted that I’m going to have to go through insurance as I think it’s going to be too expensive to not do it through insurance. Then my premium will go up too.”
South Wales Police spokesman confirmed they were investigating “after two cars were vandalised with paint”.
The spokesman added: “The damage is believed to have been caused in the early hours of Thursday, December 1, and we are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area or who has information about the incident to contact us via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 1600463608.”
