The search for an unidentified body buried in forestry as part of a murder investigation inNorth Wales has been called off.
Police believe the person buried is an adult male from the Wrexham area whose first name is Nathan or Michael.
Detectives and forensic experts started examining land at Nant-y-Ffrith on the outskirts of Bwlchgwyn in Wrexham on May 19, using specialist ‘cadaver’ police dogs and specialist police search teams.
North Wales Police said they have been unsuccessful in finding any human remains, so the search has been suspended.
Detectives are now hoping more information from the public may help them identify a more specific location in the large area of forestry.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Harrison at Wrexham CID said: “Despite our best efforts we have to date been unsuccessful in locating any human remains and so the search has been suspended pending further information and intelligence from the public.
"The investigation however continues and we are now asking the public to help us identify who the unidentified man may be.
"From enquiries conducted we believe the person buried is an adult male from the Wrexham area whose first name is Nathan or Michael.
"Do you know a Nathan or Michael from the Wrexham area who you’ve had no contact with or not seen in the last five years? If so please call our investigation team and help us piece this together.”
