The body of a man has been found in a Wrexham river.
Police and the fire service were called to the Erddig area this morning after the grim discovery in the River Clywedog.
A car park off Sontley Road has been taped off by police due to the incident.
Up to five police cars, forensic teams, the police helicopter and a fire engine have been in attendance at the scene.
It is not clear what time the body was found, but police have been on the scene for several hours, with a private ambulance arriving at the scene just after 1pm.
The cause of death is “unexplained”, according to police.
Inspector Steve Roberts of North Wales Police said: “The body of a man has been found in the River Clywedog this morning. The man’s next of kin has been informed.
"The cause of death is unexplained. Police are continuing their enquiries.”
