A house in a quiet cul-de-sac was a “very sophisticated” cannabis farm whose crop could have netted criminals more than £280,000 a jury heard.
Police officers forced their way into the privately owned property in Rodens Close, Rossett near Wrexham on January 14 this year.
The jury at Caernarfon Crown Court were told officers found the four bedroomed house had been converted into a “very sophisticated, very professional, commercial cannabis factory.”
In all 335 cannabis plants were found with an estimated street value of up to £281,400.
Vytautas Jovaisa, 36, of Wedgewood Street, Liverpool was one of three Lithuanian nationals arrested in the house.
He denies being involved in the cultivation of cannabis plants and is standing trial.
Ffion Tomos, prosecuting, said the other man arrested has already admitted his part in the plot while a woman, Karolina Micheleviciute, failed to appear before the court.
Ms Tomos said the house had been rented to a Lithuanian couple in August last year.
But when police arrived at the property in January there was no sign of them.
“The curtains were drawn and there was condensation on the window and there was no answer when the police knocked and identified themselves.

“When an officer looked through the letter box a woman was seen going up the stairs shouting something the officer did not understand.
“Fearing evidence was being disposed of the officers forced their way in.
“The seemingly normal house had been converted into a cannabis farm.
“This was not someone growing a couple of plants in a shed.
”There was a huge amount of cannabis plants and it was not a one off crop but ongoing production,” she said.
Ventilation and heating equipment had been installed along with drainage pipes. The electricity supply had been bypassed and considerable damage caused to the house.
Ms Tomos told the jury repairs had cost the owner more than £9,000.
Jovaisa was one of the three people found in the property and was arrested.
During interviews with detectives he denied being involved in growing the cannabis plants claiming to be visiting and was a guest at the house.
The trial continues.
