A LLANELLI teenager has been sent to a young offenders' institution after assaulting his ex-girlfriend at her home.
Appearing at Llanelli Magistrates' Court via Swansea Prison video link, Joshua Cameron Evans pleaded guilty to assaulting Celyn Davies.
The court heard the couple had been together in a relationship for two years, but in the last few months, Evans's behaviour was dubbed 'aggressive and abusive', the court heard.

They split up two weeks before the incident, and in the days leading up to it, Evans had been to the front of the house a number of occasions and banged the windows, but she would not let him in.
On September 3, Miss Davies was at home watching television at around half past midnight, and heard a tap on the front door.
Believing it was her cousin, she opened the door and was faced with Evans, who said 'Come on then, you think you're hard do you'.
Nineteen-year-old Evans, of School Road, then said 'I don't feel no pain' and began punching his own face, the court heard.
A scuffle then occurred, where Evans grabbed and pushed Miss Davies, and said, 'you're not so clever now, are you?'
Miss Davies scrammed Evans to the right hand side of his face, causing him to stumble backwards and she managed to push him out of the door. Neighbours then arrived and he left the area.
Miss Davies suffered bruising to her left hand side and forearm as a result of being grabbed.

The court heard there had been previous offences recorded against Evans assaulting Miss Davies.
Mitigating, Richard Morgan said: "He does have quite significant background disadvantages which manifests itself in this incident.
"It was pushing and grabbing, causing bruising. It has been a volatile relationship between the two.
"At such a young age he needs to move on, and a restraining order will have that impact in that regard.
"He does want to apologise for his actions, it is anger and coping strategies I would urge you to consider."
Summing up, Judge David Parsons said: "What you cannot see, but I think you know, is the psychological effect of persistently being assaulted by someone you are in a relationship with is damaging.
"When in a relationship, you should feel safe with your partner and not expect to be bullied. You have a history of offending against the same victim.
"This court has recognised that you have had a troubled past, and anyone would have sympathy, but there comes a time where the court cannot protect you and you have to go to custody."
Evans was sent to a young offenders' institution for 24 weeks and ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge.
A restraining order has also been made stopping Evans making contact with Miss Davies in the future.
