A MAN who entered a former partner's house in a bid to rekindle their relationship slapped her in the face when she asked him to leave.
Swansea Magistrates' Court heard Martin Sinclair Thomas had gone to his former partner's home in Port Tennant, shortly before midnight on July 17, and accessed the property by an insecure back door.
Prosecuting, Abul Hussain told the court: "He went to the bedroom and attempted to engage in conversation with the victim in order to rekindle the relationship.
"She said she wanted to go to sleep, and he then slapped one side of her face.
"She asked 'why did you do that' and he replied: 'I need to make my mark'".

The court heard that following the incident, Thomas, aged 32, had gone downstairs and put his foot through a glass table, and also fish tank, causing them to break, before leaving the property.
Mitigating, Rhys Davies said: "He is deeply remorseful of his actions.
"They were in a stable relationship, and accepts he has not handled the relationship correctly.
"He has paid compensation [for the criminal damage] and is hard working and industrious."
The court was told Thomas, who works for Bont scaffolding, had previous convictions including for battery.
He pleaded guilty to assault by beating, and criminal damage.
Chairman of magistrates Alun Williams fined Thomas, of Wern Fawr Road, Port Tennant, £175 and a further £100 compensation 'for the dreadful situation you put her in', as well as ordering him to pay £85 costs, and a £85 surcharge – a total of £445.
He added: "Your behaviour in this matter was disgraceful and you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself".
