A man arrested in Cardiff on suspicion of terrorism offences remains in custody.
The man was arrested on Thursday, September 22, and a warrant of further detention means the 33-year-old can be held until October 6
A warrant of further detention was granted on Wednesday by Westminster Magistrates' Court which authorises the man to be detained until 3.05pm on Thursday, October 6.
Officers from the Met Police Counte- Terrorism Command arrested the 33-year-old man on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 (TACT) on September 22.
The arrest, which took place on a street in Cardiff, was pre-planned and the result of an investigation by the Met Police Counter Terrorism Command and Wales Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit.
The man is being detained under TACT.
An initial warrant of further detention was obtained on Saturday, September 24 .
Officers have completed searches on two addresses in Cardiff.
There was a heavy police presence in Grangetown and Riverside suburbs on the day of the arrest, with officers from the Metropolitan Police standing guard.

How a further detention warrant works under section 41 of TACT 2000:
- An arrested person may be detained for a period of no longer than 48 hours.
- This period may be extended with an application of a warrant of further detention.
- This is initially for a maximum period of seven days.
- It may be extended on further application to fourteen days.
- Applications for further detention are made within the initial 48 hour period of detention or within six hours of the end of that period.
