POLICE found a Llanelli man in possession of heroin and cannabis after a search of a property, a court has heard.
While appearing before town magistrates, Damian Kemp pleaded guilty to possessing 1.51 grams of heroin, and two grams of herbal cannabis.
The court heard on March 30, police carried out a search of a property in Llanelli, where Kemp was the sole occupant.
Officers explained the reasons for the search, and the 35-year-old, of Seaside Crescent, said he had heroin in his 'hoodie pocket'.
Herbal cannabis was also found in the property.
During police interview, Kemp told officers he was aware it was illegal, and said the drugs were for his own personal use.

The court heard Kemp has 22 convictions for 29 offences on his record.
Mitigating, Richard Morgan said: "From his previous convictions he has got himself into difficulty with the court because of problems with drugs — especially heroin which has been a problem for him.
"He has managed to go well into 2015 and into 2016 without the involvement of drugs, but sadly lost his mother and he acquired the heroin and cannabis to try and mask the feelings.
"He does not want to go back to the way he has been in previous years."
Magistrates, who said it was "sad" Kemp had been involved in drugs for such a long time, said they hope it proves to be "one big mistake" and he would not return before the court.
Kemp responded saying his "life is turning around".
He was fined £120, ordered to pay £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge.
An order was also made for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
