A man has been found dead in a river in Wrexham .
Police officers and firefighters were called to the scene, in the Erddig area, on Saturday morning after the man’s body was spotted in the River Clywedog.
A car park off Sontley Road was taped off by police as they dealt with the find.
Up to five police cars, as well as forensic teams, the police helicopter, and a fire engine were in attendance at the scene.
Inquiries continue
Police were at the scene for several hours, with a private ambulance arriving just after 1pm.
The cause of death is “unexplained”, according to police.
Inspector Steve Roberts of North Wales Police said: “The body of a man has been found in the River Clywedog this morning. The man’s next of kin has been informed.
“The cause of death is unexplained. Police are continuing their inquiries.”
