Glyn Williams was sentenced to 13 years at Swansea Crown Court
A MAN who sexually assaulted a young girl over a six year period "ruined her childhood and blighted her adult life" a court has heard.
Glyn Williams's victim was just six when he began to "indulge his sexual tastes for young girls".

The attacks took place in the Neath area during the 1970s — but it wasn't until 2014 that she able to report the abuse to police, and an investigation was launched.
Williams, aged 58, of Kenfig Industrial Estate, Margam, had previously been found guilty of 13 counts of indecent assault of a child under 13 and gross indecency with a child following a trial when he appeared at Swansea Crown Court for sentencing.
The court heard an impact statement from the victim detailing how the years of abuse she had suffered at Williams's hands had affected her whole life, from doing poorly at school to developing depression and becoming involved in a series of abusive relationships with men as an adult.
She said what Williams had done had left her feeling worthless, and that she somehow deserved the abuse.
The victim added that she was continuing to receive counselling to help her deal with what had happened.
The court heard that after her interview where she told police about the attacks she apologised to officers for "wasting their time".
Williams has a previous conviction for gross indecency with a child from 1978 — around the same time he was assaulting the current victim — and for indecency with a girl under 14 from 1987, for which he was jailed for 15 months.
James Hartson, for Williams, said his client continued to deny his guilt of the offences for which he was convicted.
He said his client now led "an isolated sort of life" repairing static caravans, and had not re-offended for the last 30 years.
Judge Paul Thomas QC told Williams he had ruined his victim's childhood and blighted her adult life "all so you could indulge your sexual tastes for young girls".
The judge sentenced Williams to 13 years in prison and made him the subject of a three-year extended licence on his release — the defendant will also be on the sex offenders register for life.
