A man accused of murdering his pensioner neighbour and attempting to murder a young woman in Bridgend has appeared before a crown court judge.
Andrew Seal, 49, from Oxford Court in Ogmore Vale, faces one count of murder and one count of attempted murder and appeared before Judge Eleri Rees on Monday.
The defendant is charged with murdering 73-year-old Gwilym Jones, who also lived at Oxford Court.
He faces a second count of attempting to murder 21-year-old Bridie Jones. The two charges relate to May this year.
Seal did not speak during the brief plea and trial preparation hearing at Cardiff Crown Court .
He has not yet entered pleas and a trial date has been set for November 14. He was remanded in custody until then.
