Calvin Paul Baker and Jamie Fox-Byrne took the store for £9,900 and £5,500 each through void transactions

Two gambling addicts ripped off Morrisons in Rhyl for more than £15,000 while both working there.
Investigators were drafted in from head office when it became clear that large amounts of cash had gone missing from the Coast Road store.
Calvin Paul Baker, 31, of of Violet Grove, Rhyl, had used void transactions more than 3,000 times and pocketed more than £9,000, while his accomplice Jamie Fox-Byrne did it 1,700 times and took more than £5,500.
It was “continuous and repeat offending” over a six month period, said Judge Niclas Parry, who gave them both suspended jail terms of 14 months.
The pair were ordered to pay the cash back in full and do 300 hours of unpaid work.
Prosecuting barrister Anna Price told Mold Crown Court how the supermarket’s loss prevention department at headquarters was contacted in March by the store manager, concerned at discrepancies.
They remotely accessed the system and found a large number of discrepancies going back to the previous October.
Void transactions had been used to commit the fraud – but only partial voids.
Complete voids would have flagged it up with headquarters, Miss Price explained.
When they cashed up at the end of the shift they would add up the void transactions and take the cash out.
Both were immediately suspended and admitted what they had done during an internal meeting.
Arrested by police, both admitted fraud and Fox-Byrne, 28, of Clwyd Avenue, Rhuddlan , went on to explain that he had also taken some 30 or 40 national lottery scratch cards – and had won about £300.
