Brazen thieves disguised themselves as construction workers before stealing building equipment from a primary school in broad daylight.
Investigations are now underway following the theft from the building site at Bodnant Community School in Prestatyn .
North Wales Police said just before 10.40am on Sunday, two suspects wearing high visibility jackets and white hard hats entered the site at the school on Nant Hall Road in a white transit van.
Once inside, they stole six excavation buckets and a crane jib for a telehandler.
The excavation buckets all had the word ‘Read’ welded upon them.
Police believe the transit van did not have any markings on it.
PC Sarah Davies said: “Many people pass the school site on their way into the town centre and therefore it’s possible that some motorists or residents living nearby may have seen the activity or witnessed the theft on Sunday morning.
“If so, please get in touch with me or my colleagues at Prestatyn. Similarly, we would like to hear from anyone who has information relating to the incident or may know of the whereabouts of the equipment to please get in touch with us on 101 quoting reference number RC15164028.”
Alternatively, people with information can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
