A MAN caught red-handed by police in Swansea with watches that had been stolen during a burglary just hours before has avoided jail.
Terrence Davies was seen by officers in Ewart Place, Brynhyfryd, on the morning of July 21 rummaging through the boot of a car with another man.
The car — along with items including TVs and watches — had been stolen earlier that day during a burglary in nearby Freeman Street.

Frank Philips, prosecuting, told Swansea Crown Court that Davies "appeared unaware of the police presence" nearby, and when arrested was found to be in possession of three stolen watches.
Davies, of Croft Street, Waun Wen, pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods and to allowing himself to be carried in a stolen vehicle.
The court heard the 33-year-old has an "unenviable record" for offending, including having convictions for three burglaries, the first of which was committed when he was just 14.
In Wright, in mitigation, said his client accepted he was caught in a "cycle of offending inextricably linked to substance misuse".
Davies was sentenced to six months suspended for 12 months for handling, and two months suspended for 12 months for the vehicle offence, both sentences to run concurrently.
The other man arrested in Ewart Place, Greg Turnbull, has previously been jailed for three years and four months for burglary and aggravated vehicle taking.
