British Transport Police want to speak to woman after female guard shaken up after being grabbed during ticket check on Euston to Holyhead service

Transport police are appealing for information after a female rail staff was assaulted on board a train approaching Prestatyn station.
Officers have also released a CCTV image of a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place around 9.40pm on Friday, October 16.
British Transport Police have appealed for witnesses or anybody with information to come forward.
Investigating officer PC Harry Thompson said: “While conducting routine ticket checks, the train manager on board the 1910hrs Euston to Holyhead service challenged a female passenger over the legitimacy of her ticket.
“The woman immediately became argumentative and stood up and grabbed the victim around her chest, before trying to take her name badge. Fearing for her safety, she managed to free herself and moved away from the woman.
“Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any physical injuries as a result of this attack; however, this was a very distressing incident which left her shaken and in a state of shock. Nobody should have to experience such aggression simply for doing their job.
“BTP will not tolerate aggression of any kind towards railway staff and we will do everything possible to track down the offender and bring them to justice.”
Following extensive enquiries, officers have managed to isolate a CCTV image of a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, and are now calling on the public to assist.
“We believe this person got off the train at Prestatyn at around 9.45pm before leaving the station with a man,” said PC Thompson.
“I would like to appeal to anyone who may recognise the woman pictured or knows her current whereabouts to contact police, as I believe she may have key information which could greatly assist our investigation.”
Anyone with information about this incident should contact British Transport Police on Freefone 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 quoting reference WSUB/B4 of 26/10/2015. Alternatively, information can be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
