A fire broke out at a new house in the Creigiau area of Cardiff on Thursday night.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to the empty detached, three-storey timber frame house on Robin Hill at 9.17pm.
The house is on an unoccupied development of executive homes.
A spokesperson for the fire service confirmed there were no injuries and crews were sent from Ely, Whitchurch and Cardiff Central.
Jennie Griffiths, Head of South Wales Fire and Rescue Service Fire Control, confirmed on Twitter that the fire was deliberately started and suffered partial collapse.
