THREE men and a woman have been jailed for a total of 10 years and eight months after admitting drug supply offences in Cheshire and North Wales.
Clive Minshull, 48, of Bridge Street Row, Chester; Carlena Minshull, 21, of HMP Styal in Cheshire; Christopher Hutt, 53, of Blacon Point Road, Blacon, and Christopher Higginson, 46, of Stamford Road, Blacon, all pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply a Class B drug, amphetamine.

The charges relate to drugs activity in the Cheshire and North East Wales area during a period of April 2013 to April 2015.
They were sentenced at Chester Crown Court with Clive Minshull receiving four years, Carlena Minshull receiving 18 months, Hutt was sentenced to two years and six months, and Higginson was jailed for two years and eight months.

Carlena Minshull had already been sentenced to two years’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs earlier this year.

During the hearing, Judge Nicholas Woodward heard the organised crime group, headed by Clive Minshull, had been responsible for supplying amphetamine as well as organising safe houses where large amounts of amphetamine would be stored.

During the police investigation, officers seized more than 12 kilos of amphetamine from addresses in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Connah’s Quay and Queensferry.

Detective Sgt Chris Williams of Cheshire Constabulary’s Public Protection Directorate said: “Drug supply on this scale negatively impacts on the communities and those using this drug.

“The defendants in this case arranged the supply and storage of large quantities of amphetamine destined for the streets of Cheshire and North Wales.

“In sentencing, the judge has clearly recognised the serious nature of these offences and it sends a strong and clear message to those who are determined to profit from drug dealing that their crimes do not pay, and we will bring to justice those whose activities bring misery to our communities.
