The suspect was on the 10.55pm Bristol Temple Meads to Cardiff train on Friday September 4
Police are hunting for the flashing culprit who woke up a sleeping passenger on a busy train with his trousers round his ankles.
The snoozing man opened his eyes to see the flasher baring all in front of him.
The bearded flasher then spent 12 minutes bouncing down the carriage with his penis on display.
PC Morgan Andrews, who is investigating the incident, said: "While asleep on a train coming into Newport railway station, the victim – a man from Cardiff – was awoken by a passenger shaking his shoulder.".
"Upon opening his eyes, the victim realised that the man had his trousers around his knees and was exposing himself.
"This behaviour continued for a total of 12 minutes, during which time the man repeatedly walked up and down the aisle, continually exposing himself to passengers. The victim was understandably disgusted and offended by what he and others were forced to endure.
PC Andrews added, "The man may have thought his actions were nothing more than a joke, but in reality this was completely unacceptable and inappropriate behaviour which was clearly distressing for many of the passengers present."
British Transport Police have described the man as white, in his mid 20s, around 6ft, of large build, with short dark brown hair and a short dark brown beard.
He is believed to have got off the evening train at Newport on Friday September 4.
