Seven cars were set alight this morning within streets of each other in Wrexham .
Fire crews were called to two separate incidents on Waterloo Close in Hightown at 6.40am and 6.47am.
Just over quarter of an hour later, they were sent to another blaze on Saxon Street at 7.06am, and a further one on nearby Hillbury Road a minute later.
One appliance from Wrexham attended each incident.
It has since been confirmed that the total number of vehicles burned out stands at seven.
A joint investigation is now underway involving the fire and rescue service, North Wales Police and the joint Arson Reduction Team.
Kevin Jones Arson Reduction Manager for North Wales Fire And Rescue Service, said: "This is a serious issue, not only is it extremely upsetting for the owners of the vehicles damaged, but it could potentially be life threatening.
"I would like to reassure the public that we are working closely with investigators from North Wales Police, and are gathering vital evidence from these incidents to identify the culprits."
Detective Inspector Jonathan Salisbury-Jones of North Wales Police added: "I am appealing to anyone in the area at the time who saw any suspicious persons or activity, or who knows anything about these fires or witnesses any anti-social behaviour to contact Police immediately.
"These incidents not only put the community at risk but also waste the resources of the emergency services which could be put to use elsewhere.
"I would ask anyone with information to make contact on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote reference S162991."
