TWO men fled empty handed after an attempted robbery on a teenager in Rhyl last night.
Investigations are underway following an attempt robbery on a 17-year-old at around 10pm.
The teenager was walking along Grange Road near the entrance to Coronation Gardens from the direction of the town centre when he was approached from behind by two men. One of the men grabbed the victim while the other searched his pockets.
The offenders then ran off empty handed after a man who is believed to have come from the direction of Park Drive shouted across to the victim. Both were last seen heading towards the town centre passing the One Stop Shop, Grange Road, on their way.
The victim is not believed to have been injured.
Detective Constable Paul Terry of St Asaph CID said: “House to house inquiries are on-going in the area today and we are extremely keen to trace and speak to the man who shouted across to the victim. It is possible that he may have information which would assist us further with our investigations."
He added: "We are also urging anyone who was in the area at around the time or who witnessed the incident to please get in touch with us. The first offender is described as aged between 17 and 25 years, around 5ft 10’ tall, of large build and wearing a grey hooded top which had the hood up and grey jogging pants. The second offender is described as being of similar age, of thin build and around 6ft tall. He was wearing dark clothing.”
