The group that had to leave the Penmaenmawr cafe after the landowner blockaded them in are now occupying the store's carpark

Travellers who were forced to quit a site in Conwy after the landowner barricaded them in have now set up camp at Asda in Kinmel Bay .
Nine caravans appeared at the store on Tuesday, along with several other vehicles including a flatbed truck and mini-digger.

Over the weekend, they encamped on land at the Puffin Cafe on the A55 in Penmaenmawr , but left after cafe owner Jonathan Williams-Ellis blocked them in with a JCB and refused to let them leave in their vehicles unless they took their caravans with them.
They eventually left - after allegedly demanding unsuccessfully £8,000 from Mr Williams-Ellis - and have now turned up at the supermarket.
An eye witness says their presence at Asda “doesn’t seem to be causing any problems,” as they are stationed at the back of the car park to the rear of the grocery store’s click and collect bay.
The onlooker said: “The store isn’t too busy at the moment and there appears to be no issues.
“The council’s refuse collection truck has been and cleared some rubbish.”
Travellers also set up camp in the Kinmel Bay Asda car park in July.

North Wales Police spokeswoman said: “We are aware that travellers are at the Kinmel Bay site but the matter is being dealt with by Conwy Council.”
Conwy council , which is in the process of trying to find a suitable site for travellers in the county, are adopting an “advisory role” as the Travellers are on private land.
A spokesman for the authority said: “Unauthorised encampments highlight the need for transit provision across North Wales.
