Officers were called to an address in Caerphilly and Gwent Police say they are looking into the circumstances of the one-month-old girl's death

Police are investigating the death of a one-month-old baby girl after officers were called to an address in Caerphilly county.

Officers were called to an address in Commercial Street, Senghenydd, on Friday morning.

Gwent Police say they are looking into the circumstances of the girl’s death.

She was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, but was pronounced dead.

A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: “Officers are currently undertaking further enquiries to establish circumstances surrounding the death.
