A football fan has been charged with the racially-aggravated assault of a police officer during a derby game on Tuesday night.
Police have charged a 45-year-old man from Tranmere with three offences following theWrexham versus Tranmere game.
The derby match on Tuesday - which finished 2-2 - was blighted by minor crowd trouble.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “A 45-year-old man from Tranmere has been charged with common assault of a football steward, racially-aggravated assault of a police officer and racially-aggravated harassment.
“He has been released on police bail.”
It was not the only trouble during the traditional derby game.
Rovers goalkeeper Scott Davies discovered what appeared to be a “sex toy” on the pitch and removed it from his 18 yard box.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “A 24 year old man from Wrexham has been charged with throwing a missile onto a football playing area. He has been bailed to appear before Wrexham Magistrate’s Court on October 23.”
