A TEENAGER who secretly filmed a woman while she was in the bath and in the shower has been placed on the sex offences register for five years.
Connor Leal Storey-Walker, 18, admitted two separate charges of voyeurism at an earlier hearing.
The offences occurred when he was 17 and it had caused great distress to the victim to find that she had been filmed in such private acts.
Flintshire Magistrates court at Mold heard images had been found which showed the woman naked.
The offences took place in Flintshire where Story-Walker had set up a secret camera.
Story-Walker was placed on the sex offender register for five years and he was also made the subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order under which he is not to possess any device capable of storing or recording digital images, unless he makes it available for inspection on request to the police.
Storey-Walker, of Oakwood Road, Rhyl, was placed on a two year community order under which he must carry out 200 hours unpaid work and undergo supervision.
The defendant was ordered to pay £200 compensation to his victim although magistrates said that was a nominal sum towards the emotional impact it had caused and did not adequately reflect the gravity of the offence.
He must also pay £85 costs and a £60 surcharge.
Rhian Jackson, prosecuting, said the victim was shocked and upset to be told naked images of her had been found in his possession. She had been in a shower and in a bath at the time.
The victim told how she was mortified and disgusted and was struggling to come to terms with what happened to her.
