Adam Jones was jailed at Mold Crown Court

The court heard Adam Jones, 30, of Rhodfa Annwyl in Rhuddlan, had no remorse over the image he sent to a girl under 13

A father-of-two jailed for sending a photograph of his penis to a schoolgirl under the age of 13 had no remorse, a court heard.
Adam Jones, 32, of Rhodfa Annwyl in Rhuddlan , was given a 27-month sentence and made the subject of a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
He was also ordered to register with the police as a sex offender for 10 years.
Judge Rhys Rowlands , who said Jones had previous convictions for exposure, described it as “all rather worrying”.
Jones previously denied all charges but was convicted by a jury at Mold Crown Court .
Sentencing him today, the judge said the defendant had no remorse and only had a limited understanding of the impact he had on the victim.
Jones had taken advantage of her, and his actions had a profound effect upon the girl, said the judge.
His behaviour in sending images of himself was repeated and put him in breach of a previous sexual harm prevention order.
“In the eyes of right-thinking people, there is something very, very wrong when a man such as yourself repeatedly exposes yourself and gets a thrill from sending a photo of your penis to a young child,” Judge Rowlands told him.
But the judge said he could not be satisfied from the selfie he had taken while lying on a bed that he was actually engaging in a sex act, which would have made it more serious.

Prosecuting barrister Elen Owen said a victim impact statement showed the defendant’s behaviour had a significant impact on the child, who had flashbacks and was undergoing counselling.
In his own mind, Jones felt victimised, did not accept the jury verdicts, and did not accept his previous convictions when he was found to have exposed himself to adult women in Denbigh and Abergele in 2010, the court heard.
Simon Killeen, defending, said his client had been cleared of another charge which the prosecution suggested had been grooming.
The defendant had suggested in the pre-sentence report that he may need some help.
Last month, a jury convicted him by majority verdicts of sexual assault, two charges of causing a child to watch a sexual act, and two charges of breaching his SOPO.
But he was cleared of a further sexual assault and engaging in a sexual act in the presence of a child.
