A boy was threatened by a man who pulled over in his car before pushing him up against a wall in an unprovoked attack.
North Wales Police are appealing for information about the incident which left the 11-year-old boy shaken but unhurt.
The boy had been walking along Bistre Avenue near Fraser Drive in Buckley at about 1.20pm on Sunday and was trying to separate his dog from a cat which had jumped out in front them.
As he was doing so, a blue car, possibly a Volkswagen, pulled up.
A man got out of the vehicle and pushed the boy against a wall while threatening him about his behaviour.
Meanwhile a white transit van also stopped and the driver got out and pulled the man away from the boy.
The offender drove off while the van driver asked the boy if he was all right, before also leaving the scene.
PC Ian Pearson said: “This was an unprovoked attack and a frightening experience for a young boy.
“I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information which may help us identify the offender to come forward.”
“I am also appealing to the van driver who helped the boy to contact police on 101. Crime reference RC15156133.”
