A MAN was left needing reconstructive facial surgery and feeling he always has to "look over his shoulder" after being attacked in his own home following a party, a court has heard.
A drunken Christopher James punched the man in the face after hearing a rumour about him, causing his victim to hit a radiator as he fell to the floor.

The man - who is in his 50s - was left with with fractures to his jaw, cheek, and eye socket, and needing three metal plates inserted in his face.
James, of Lyon's Place, Resolven, had previously pleaded guilty to assault occasioning grievous bodily harm on a basis when he appeared in custody at Swansea Crown Court for sentencing.
Helen Randall, prosecuting, said the 28-year-old had been part of a group of people drinking in the victim's house on the evening of January 29.
He left the property around 10pm but later that night he heard an unfounded rumour about the host of the party, and flew into a rage.
The court heard he went to the victim's house — also in Resolven — to confront the man, with neighbour's living nearby "trying to talk him down".
James knocked on his victim's front door and shouted, and when it was answered he punched the man twice in the face, knocking him to the floor.
The court heard James had seven previous convictions for some nine offences, including three for battery. He was subject to a suspended sentence for violence when he attacked the man.
The court heard details of victim impact statement from the man he punched in which he said he had "lost his self-confidence" as a result of what had happened, and always "looks over his shoulder" when he goes out of the house.
Robin Rouch, for James, said his client had been "provoked" by what he had been told but now accepted he should not have gone to the man's house "in the state he was in".
The barrister said James had candidly admitted that "alcohol has ruined his life".
James was told he had "violated the sanctuary" of his victim's home, and was sentenced to two years in prison. He was also made the subject of a five-year restraining order banning him from contacting his victim.
