A 28-year-old man was accused at a special weekend court of subjecting a housewife to violence during a burglary at her Kinmel Bay home.
Paul Greenough of Riverbank, Bagillt in Flintshire was charged with attempting to steal a bottle of wine in the incident in Bodelwyddan Avenue on Thursday evening, during which the woman had minor injuries to her arm and fingers.
A second charge faced by Greenough is of a burglary at another house in the avenue and the alleged theft of keys to a BMW X3 car.
He was sent in custody to Caernarfon crown court on October 3, and protested when he was not allowed bail. “I’m getting remanded for nothing,” he complained from the dock at Llandudno court.
It was alleged by Julia Galston, prosecuting, that Greenough had been held on the floor in the street by an off-duty police officer and a neighbour before police arrived to arrest him.
Philip Lloyd Jones, defending, said his client maintained he hadn’t committed the offences.
