Calls are being made to tackle the problem of syringes and glass found on a Llandudno rugby field.
The items, which were discovered on the field in Maesdu Road, were reported to police on August 15 and have since been cleared up but Aberconwy AM Janet Finch-Saunders has said the efforts must not stop there.
She said: “The issues there are hypodermic syringes, glass and unsavoury activities by youths at night.
"It needs a robust multi agency approach - as long as it is not just cleaned up and then walk away.
"In a place where we have children and adults playing rugby, syringes and glass just don't mix."
Cllr Ronnie Hughes said: "We've had a meeting with the police and the field has been sorted out, the needles removed. It was a very productive meeting.
"The community will have to be the eyes and ears for us, if they see anything they can contact police or contact myself."
Inspector Kelly Isaacs at Llandudno Police Station said: “We meet regularly with representatives from the community and take their concerns seriously.
"Concerns passed onto Police at those meetings, coupled with intelligence received has led directly to seven Misuse of Drugs Acts search warrants and 77 people been dealt with for drugs related offences across West Conwy since April.
"Quantities of Class A controlled drugs as well as cash and other drugs related paraphernalia has been recovered and more importantly we have sent out a strong message of reassurance to the local community as well as a warning to those who have designs on bringing drugs into the area.
"We held a community meeting last week in which the issues of concern were discussed.
"We have also engaged with substance misuse service to request a reminder be issued to drug users to dispose of drug related litter safely.”
Anyone with information regarding the production and supply of controlled drugs can contact North Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
