Jac Evan Davies died following a house fire in Pontardawe in July

The mother of a four-year-old boy who died in a house fire in Pontardawe has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect.

Jac Evan Davies died after a fire at his family home in Alltwen, Pontardawe, in the early hours of July 27.

Three other children managed to get out of the property.

Jac’s mother Jenny Davies has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect but has been released on police bail.

A South Wales Police spokesman said: “A 28-year-old woman from the Pontardawe area has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect and is currently on police bail while enquiries continue.”

The arrest was made on August 18.
