Supermarket giant Tesco has apologised for the state of its recycling facilities at a valleys superstore, after bags of donated clothes were left to pile up.
These photos were taken by a member of the public at the Aberdare Tesco in the Cynon Valley , with the store's 'clothes bank' overflowing with black bags, and a new pile half as tall as the collection bins left uncollected.
Clothes were also pictured strewn across the floor behind the bins.

Clifford Charles, of Aberdare, said he was worried the clothes that people had donated had been left there for so long it would cause a health issue.

'No excuse for it'

He said he had told members of staff at the store about his concerns at least four times over six months, but nothing was done to clear the mess.
Mr Charles said: "No one was taking any notice of it - and this situation has been going on since March.
"I'd told the front line staff at least four times, and nothing happened. I don't know if the message was passed on to managers at the store.
"It is just the accumulation of clothes over time which is the problem, and they haven't acted - there is no excuse for it.

"It looks like the bags have been opened by someone too, and the clothes are scattered wildly, especially behind the bins."
Tesco has since apologised to customers for the inconvenience.

Tesco apology

A spokesman said: "Unfortunately we are experiencing problems with, and misuse of our recycling facility at, Aberdare superstore.
"Colleagues have been working hard to improve the situation, including carrying out unscheduled clearing duties, but the problem is persisting.
"We are reviewing the situation with our recycling contractor and apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused."
