A former taxman was jailed for a vile foul-mouthed rant - all over a £60 parking ticket.
Raging driver Gareth Tinson, 34, fired off shocking messages to a parking officer who sent reminders about his unpaid fine.A court heard council officials were shocked at the obscene language used by Tinson over the parking offence. In one message he said: "I hope it bothers you that I am using racial slurs and I'm calling you a c***"I hope it hurts that fact that I wish your children get raped, I hope your children die a slow and painful death from cancer. And I hope you f****** die c*** of the most aggressive cancer your c*** of a creator can muster for you."Send me my f****** evidence by post, you little racist c***."Tinson's ravings were read out to a stunned courtroom where he was jailed for four months for offensive messages sent online following his appeal against a parking ticket. The court heard that for three months last Autumn Tinson sent a stream of offensive, indecent and obscene messages after refusing to pay a parking ticket.
Prosecutor Rachel Anthony said: "Tinson's language used constant profanity which included harassment and other malicious communication.
"The council employee receiving the communication had never been in receipt of such abuse in 20 years."
Cardiff Magistrates Court heard that Tinson had previous convictions for similar offences aimed at HMRC where he previously worked.
His lawyer Tarick Sadiq told the court that Tinson has learned from "his mistakes, had huge remorse and needed help with his anger management issues."
District Judge Bodfan Jenkins told Tinson: "You are a man with a number of problems and the court has tried to assist you with the lenient sentences from previous offending.
"You have ignored these attempts and it is clear that the community orders have had no effect on you.
"You gave a tirade of insults and filth, the offending was gross and those subject to your abuse will get the protection from this court.
"If my powers were not severely restricted, you would be going to prison for a lot longer."
Tinson, of Porth, Rhondda, was prosecuted under the Communications Act. He was ordered to serve a further two months for breaching a previous community order.

Swansea,South Wales - Jail for man armed with machete who planned to kidnap taxi driver

Thomas Patrick Mooney planned to kidnap the taxi driver and tie him up with electrical cable

A MAN armed with a machete, kitchen knife and lengths of electrical cable tried to kidnap a taxi driver, a court has heard. Thomas Patrick Mooney planned to tie up the cabbie and put him in the boot of his own car.
Swansea Crown Court heard that Thomas Patrick Mooney flagged down a cab near Aberystwyth train station in the early hours of October 13 and asked the driver to take him to the village of Rhydyfelin.
But when the taxi arrived at its destination Mooney, who was sat in the back seat, produced a large kitchen knife.

Jim Davies, for the prosecution, said the terrified cabbie fled from the vehicle - leaving the engine running and a cash bag containing his takings of some £300 behind - and hid in a nearby garden. Mooney then drove away in the Ford Focus.
The court heard that armed police officers were dispatched to hunt for Mooney, and he was found some 25 miles away. When he was searched he was found to be in possession of two knives, a machete, and lengths of electrical cable, included "nooses" of cable worn around his neck. A subsequent breath test showed he had 57 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.
He told police that he planned to kidnap the taxi driver, put him the boot of his car, and drive him to Newtown in Powys where he would let him go.
Mooney, aged 29, of Park Avenue, Aberystwyth, had previously pleaded guilty to attempted kidnap, possessing three knives in a public place, driving with excess alcohol and driving while disqualified when he appeared in the dock for sentencing.
Catherine Richard, for Mooney, said her client was genuinely remorseful for what he had done, and said that on the day in question he had been "intent on his self-destruction".
The court heard he was suffering from a "transient adjustment disorder" brought about by his inability to cope with the break-down of his marriage.
Judge Paul Thomas said the incident had had a "profound psychological impact" on its victim, and he jailed Mooney for three years.

Carl Mello, and Anthony Evans were jailed for their "crime spree" in North Wales

Two men who travelled to North Wales on a “crime spree” looking to steal from cars and houses have been jailed.
Carl Mello and Anthony Evans saw the region as a “soft touch”, and stole a car in Chester in order to travel to North Wales to look for potential targets.
Vehicles parked at Chester Zoo, the Talardy Hotel in St Asaph and the retail park a tRhuddlan had been targeted, and strimmers had been stolen from a residential property at Dyserth , and from the Dyserth Falls Resort, all on the same day on August 16 last year.
They theft had been reported, police got an ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) hit on the stolen vehicle, they chased the car and Mello and Evans initially failed to stop.
Mello, of Woodchurch Road in Prenton, Wirral, and Evans, of Lansdown Place in Prenton, were both on suspended sentences for their involvement in a brawl in a Birkenhead bar in May last year.
Judge Nicolas Parry, sitting at Mold Crown Court, told the pair: “This was a crime spree. You travelled from Merseyside into North Wales no doubt thinking that it was a soft touch. You came in a vehicle that was stolen for the purpose.”
Myles Wilson, for Mello, said that the affray got a bit of notoriety on Merseyside and ended up front page news there.
Because of that notoriety, 28-year-old Mello lost his job as a roofer, and had committed the theft offences in order to raise money.
He could not complain if he was sent to prison but he was now re-establishing himself and had been offered a job as a glazier.
Rehabilitation would help reduce the risk of re-offending and the probation service had been thinking about sending him for counselling because of the impact on him of a manslaughter conviction many years ago.
Clare Jones, for Evans, said that he had been making good progress under the suspended sentence and if given an opportunity “would seize it with both hands”.
But the judge said that the offences were so serious that it had to be immediate custody.
Judge Parry jailed Mello for 16 months and 30-year-old Evans for nine months.

Wrexham,North Wales - Man jailed after having £40,000 worth criminal cash paid into his bank account

Francis Joseph Berry, 35 of no fixed abode but originally from the Wrexham area, was sentenced to 14 months in jail yesterday after admitting money laundering.

Homeless Francis Joseph Berry, 35, was sentenced to 14 months in prison yesterday after he admitted money laundering

A homeless man on benefits had more than £40,000 worth of criminal cash deposited into his bank account.
Francis Joseph Berry, 35 of no fixed abode but originally from the Wrexham area, was sentenced to 14 months in jail yesterday after admitting money laundering.
He initially denied the charge but changed his plea as the trial started at Mold Crown Court.
Sentencing him, Judge Niclas Parry said that Berry could have been sentenced to serve two years behind bars if he had not been pleaded guilty.
“Without people like you, serious crime would not be committed,” added Judge Parry.
Berry was interviewed by North Wales Police in June 2015 after a financial investigation which showed that unexplained deposits which had been paid into his bank account.
Despite him having no job and income aside from benefits, the court heard money in varying amounts had been paid into his account at monthly intervals over an 11 month period.
The total deposited into Berry’s account came to £40,600 but yesterday he was ordered to pay back the £22,585.21 found in the account at the time of the investigation within three month.
Detective Inspector Arwyn Jones of the force’s Operation Scorpion Team who tackle Serious and Organise Crime added: “This is another example of how North Wales Police will actively pursue criminals and will use the powers under the Proceeds of Crime Act to strip offenders of any property, including their homes, cars and cash that they possess,” said detective inspector Arwyn Jones of the Operation Scorpion Team, dedicated to tackling organised crime.
“We want the assistance of the public to bring these people to justice and any information will be taken seriously and appropriate action will be taken.”
North Wales Police Financial Investigator, Jessica Cunnah stated: “North Wales Police are sending out the message that those involved in criminality of this nature will have their assets taken from them when they are caught and convicted.”
Berry is currently in prison serving a two year sentence for wounding.
He had been due to be released from jail prior to yesterday’s sentencing but will now serve more time behind bars.

Anglesey,North Wales - Self-confessed 'pervert and paedophile' jailed for three years

Robert Siddall, 59, of Llanbedrgoch, Anglesey, was jailed for three years and four months
Robert Siddall, 59, of Llanbedrgoch, Anglesey, was jailed for three years and four months

Robert Stuart Siddall, 59, of Ty Newydd Leisure Park, Llanbedrgoch, admitted six charges of making indecent images

A self-confessed “pervert and paedophile” has been jailed for three years and four months for making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children.
Robert Stuart Siddall, 59, of Ty Newydd Leisure Park, Llanbedrgoch, Anglesey had admitted six charges of making indecent images, two of possessing indecent images, one of possessing extreme images of children and three of distributing images when he appeared before Holyhead magistrates on January 5.
Prosecutor Matthew Curtis told Caernarfon Crown Court that Siddall appeared in custody for sentencing after being arrested the previous night for breaching bail conditions imposed by magistrates.
He had tried to befriend a 14-year-old girl on Facebook with “affectionate, not indecent” messages.
Mr Curtis said in April 1991, Siddall, who previously lived in Maes Cynlas, Ty Croes, was sentenced to 18 months jail at Chester Crown Court for indecent assault on a 16-year-old girl and gross indecency with a child.
In February last year, North Wales Police were told that a man arrested in Avon and Somerset said he’d been sent indecent images of children by Siddall.
Siddall was arrested and his three laptops, nine mobile phones, tablet and SD card seized.
When interviewed, Siddall admitted sending the images. In information gleaned from his devices Siddall said he fantasised about abusing children.
In total, Siddall had 440 indecent images of children with 64 at category A – the most severe – and 15 movies with 10 at category A.
Mr Curtis said: “The images showed children ranging from aged four upwards, with two images showing children in acts of bestiality.”
He said search terms showed Siddall looking for “nudist girls”, “0-5 girls” and others.
When interviewed by police, Siddall denied he was getting any sexual gratification and claimed he was “stressed”.
Mr Curtis said: “He admitted that he was a pervert and a paedophile.”
Ffion Tomos, for Siddall, said he was “realistic” about the offending.
Sentencing Siddall, Judge Philip Harris-Jenkins said: “The depraved nature of those images and movies were being watched by you on a daily basis and distributed by you to others. These images are abhorrent to any normal person. The children involved in these videos are all victims; all your victims. You eventually admitted that you were a pervert and a paedophile.”
He said: “I have heard about discussions that you shared with others about your fantasies of sexualised behaviour. They show the immoral behaviour and warped thinking that you possess.”
Siddall will serve half of his sentence before being released on licence and have to register as a sex offender indefinitely. He was also banned from working with children indefinitely and from using online messaging systems.

Wrexham,North Wales - Caia Park shotgun siege man jailed for two years and four months

Published date: 29 January 2016 |

A MAN who staged a siege at his Wrexham home after he was seen firing a shotgun realised how stupid he had been, his lawyer told a court.
Matthew Mackenzie, 26, was jailed for two years and four months yesterday after he admitted having a loaded single barrelled shotgun in public and possessing it while prohibited on December 16.
Mold Crown Court heard there had been a number of undercover police officers on the Caia Park estate as part of another investigation.
They were shocked to see MacKenzie walk through the estate carrying the rifle openly without any attempt to hide it.
At that stage, it was unloaded and he was seen to point the gun at a group of young men.
They appeared startled and began to run off but when they realised it was the defendant they were filmed looking at the gun with him, prosecutor Richard Edwards said.
However, he loaded it and then “casually” fired it at some trees, scattering birds, at a grassed area surrounded by houses.
Armed police went to his home at Coed Aben where there was a stand-off and he came to the door holding part of the gun, which by that stage had been dismantled.
He also held knives to his throat.
The judge, Mr Recorder Simon Mills, said he had acquired the stolen gun that day, along with a single cartridge, to shoot vermin but saw the group of youths on the way home as he carried the weapon openly on the estate.
“Unbeknown to you, there were undercover police officers on the estate relating to another operation in that area,” he said.
One of the youths realised he did not intend them any harm. They appeared excited with the weapon as he showed it off.
It may have been bravado, the judge said, but as he walked off he fired it in a rather casual and gratuitous way, thankfully not causing any danger to members of the public.
He then “broke” the gun and walked home when he began to attract the attention of other people.
When police arrived he acted in “an utterly petulant and pathetic way” but the judge commented that he also put himself at considerable risk in the circumstances.
At that stage the gun had been dismantled, he had no ammunition and the incident fortunately ended without anyone being hurt.
A sentence was needed to mark the public concern about such offences and to deter others, Mr Recorder Mills said.
He added Mackenzie was a man with a bad record, including robbery and wounding. The court heard extra police were drafted in and the area was cordoned off and evacuated.
After negotiations he later left the house voluntarily and was arrested.
Paul Abrahams, defending, said his client accepted that the possession of the weapon was unlawful.
He said the surveillance officers were present for a completely unrelated matter which had nothing to do with his client.
“I find it difficult to put into words the complete stupidity of his actions, walking down the road holding that gun,” he said.
Fortunately, he did not injure anyone and realised how he had he had put himself in real danger.
He had adopted a pragmatic approach and knew he was going to prison, he was taking it on the chin and would ask for as much mercy as he could from the court.
“He knows he has been completely stupid,” Mr Abraham said.
Following the sentence Det Chief Insp Neil Harrison, of North Wales Police, said: “This was a serious incident where a shotgun was discharged in the middle of a housing estate, placing members of the public in danger. McKenzie had complete disregard for the safety of his own community and following the incident had a stand-off with police for several hours.
“The incident only came to light as a result of McKenzie being seen with the gun by officers. The sentence reflects the seriousness of the incident and the fear that it caused within the community.
“It is vital the community report matters to the police so that those causing the greatest harm are dealt with and to ensure the public remain safe.”
