Bridgend,South Wales - Police inspector slams those responsible for concrete block dropped onto M4 from bridge

An inspector from South Wales Police has slammed the actions of the person or persons who dropped a concrete block onto the M4 last night.
Officers are continuing to investigate the incident, which saw the block dropped onto the motorway from a footbridge near Sarn services in Bridgend, at approximately 7.55pm.
The roof of a HGV was damaged by the concrete - thrown from the bridge which links the A4063 Sarn By-pass and Penycae Lane. Four more vehicles were also damaged after hitting debris, caused by the block further falling on to the carriageway.
Commenting on the incident, Inspector Rowan Moore, from Roads Policing Unit said, "The actions of the person or persons responsible are extremely dangerous and the consequences could have resulted in the death of a motorist. It is very fortunate that this was not the result on this occasion.

"South Wales Police is conducting local enquiries to trace the identity of those responsible."
None of the drivers were hurt in the incident but the damage to the vehicles could cost thousands of pounds to repair.
South Wales Police is appealing for any witnesses who saw the incident or who know the identity of those involved to ring 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111, quoting occurrence 1600006558.
