A 29-year-old man accused of smashing a living room window after drinking at his ex-partner’s home, and making threatening comments to a police sergeant, left court with a £915 bill today.
Daniel Roberts, of Narrow Lane, Llandudno Junction, was told by district judge Gwyn Jones at Llandudno court :”This was an unpleasant incident.”
He admitted criminal damage and disorderly behaviour towards the policeman on December 9. Judge Jones ordered him to pay a £300 fine and £100 compensation on each charge and £115 costs.
Graham Parry, defending, said Roberts had paid for the window to be fixed. His memory was hazy after having far too much drink but Roberts, who worked for a traffic lights firm, had apologised for his conduct.

A 46-year-old Jehovah's Witness preacher and elder has been jailed for having
sexual activity with a girl of 14.
Family man Daniel Arthington of Llanddaniel, Anglesey, pleaded guilty at
Caernarfon crown court and was sent to prison for two years and eight
months.
"I'm satisfied there was an element of grooming involved in your successful
attempt in snaring your young prey," Judge Huw Rees told him.
"Your fall from grace is substantial but you have nobody to blame but yourself."
Anna Pope, prosecuting, said the defendant had responsibilities which
included being an elder, preacher and other duties.
She described how a local builder had noticed a van parked on occasions on a
remote lane near Bangor Rugby Club. He spotted it in the afternoon of
October 17, with a male driver and a female sitting close to him.
Becoming suspicious he told a friend who was a police officer who arrived and could
hear voices from the back of the van, "with noises consistent with sexual
activity."
Miss Pope added : "He waited for about 20 minutes during which he saw the
van rocking from side to side, and the prosecution say this was the
defendant involved in sexual activity with a child."
Arthington got back into the front of the van, appearing short of breath,
and the policeman asked the passenger to get out.
Arthington said to the girl : "Tell him you're 19, I've already told him."
When asked for her date of birth the girl admitted she was 14 and on his way to the police station Arthington declared :"I'm dead."
Miss Pope said there was a mattress and sheet in the back of the van.
In an impact statement the girl said she now felt sad and depressed, had
lost weight and couldn't sleep. Her family was now considering whether to
move.
Simon Rogers, defending, said his family was standing by Arthington. "He's
deeply ashamed of what he has done and has let down himself and his family.
He's been married 27 years with two children."
References described him as: "hard working, kind and compassionate."
Judge Rees said to Arthington - in a white shirt and tie and expressionless
as sentence was passed - that although there had been no penetration "you
were close to it on any view."
He added that he'd been greedy and lustful. "You made a sly attempt to
prevent the police from seeing her and tried to hoodwink them that she was
19."
A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was imposed whose terms ban any contact with
the girl and he must register indefinitely as a sexual offender.
After the case Detective Sergeant Daf Curry of Caernarfon CID said: "The
kind of acts this man perpetrated have caused his victim and her family huge
damage. By exploiting a position of trust, particularly towards a
vulnerable child, he has betrayed them all and I hope they feel some sense
of justice has been reached and they can attempt to rebuild their lives.
"We welcome the sentence and I'd like to assure the communities of North
Wales that we will treat every allegation of sexual abuse seriously and
thoroughly pursue the perpetrators and bring them to justice."

The case against a North Wales teenager charged with stealing women’s underwear during Christmas Day house burglaries has been sent to the crown court.
John Junior Sillah, 19, made his first appearance at Flintshire Magistrates’ Court from custody.
Sillah, of Mornington Crescent in Drury, Buckley, is charged with a house burglary at Hanson Drive, Buckley, on Christmas Day, where it is alleged that he stole underwear and ladies’ clothing.
It is alleged he had also burgled the same premises when it is alleged that he stole ladies’ clothing, underwear and a house key, back in April.
The defendant is charged with a Christmas Day burglary at a house in Chester Road, Mold, where it is alleged that he stole money, ladies’ clothing and underwear; attempting to burgle another house in Chester Road, Mold, on Christmas Day, and burglary at another house in Chester Road, Mold, on the same day, when it is alleged that he stole a jacket to a value unknown.
Sillah is further charged with possessing a quantity of cannabis, a class B drug, at the time of his arrest on Wednesday.
Prosecutor Rhian Jackson said it was the prosecution case that he had burgled houses and stolen women’s underwear for his own sexual gratification.

A homeless man living on the streets of Wrexham was desperate when he stole from Boots.
Dean Alan Bellis, 42, wanted money for food, his lawyer explained at Flintshire Magistrates Court at Mold yesterday.
Defence solicitor Bethan Jones said when people were released from prison, 28 days emergency accommodation used to be provided.
But she had now discovered that was not the case and people were simply released from prison onto the streets, she said.
Bellis had been “discharged from prison into a cardboard box in Wrexham High Street,” she explained.
On occasions he could stay at the Ty Nos night shelter but that could not be guaranteed.
There were more homeless people than the number of beds available at the night shelter, she said, adding: “It is a sad reflection on society.”
She had been told by the probation service there was another scheme in place which triggered in when temperatures dropped below zero but no-one had advised her client of that, Miss Jones said.
Bellis was told by one of the magistrates that he could attend at premises in Wrexham with his sleeping bag when temperatures fell.
He said he had already been there but it was locked up, that there was no service available but he was told that it would be available after a third freezing night.
Magistrates placed him on a six month community order with drug rehabilitation and regular court reviews.
They said they hoped he would get a bed for the night.
Bellis, of no fixed abode, admitted stealing an aftershave gift set valued at £39 from Boots in Eagles Meadow.
He said he stole to sell so that he could buy food as his money had run out and he was not due to receive any benefits until the next week.
