A DRUNK Christmas partygoer punched a hotel worker before getting behind the wheel and crashing into a wall, a court heard.
Kieran John Williams, 24, lashed out at Nathaniel Rowlands who had asked him to stop tampering with a clocking-on machine inside the Grosvenor Pulford Arms, near Wrexham, in the early hours of December 11.
Lionel Cope, prosecuting at West Cheshire Magistrates Court in Chester, said Williams was in a drunken state, leaning against a wall with vomit on his shirt.
Mr Cope said: “Mr Rowlands, a member of staff at the hotel, was clearing up after a function and went down to the cellar to collect some cream for a beverage.
“When he returned he saw the defendant leaning against a wall with sick down his shirt and appearing to be in a drunken state.
“The defendant was touching a clocking-on machine and was asked by Mr Rowlands to stop doing so and at this point, the defendant punched Mr Rowlands.
“The duty manager was called and the defendant then proceeded to get into his vehicle and rolled the car into a brick wall.”
The offence happened at 12.30pm.
Williams admitted assault and driving a vehicle with excess alcohol.
Williams, of Fford Glan Mor, Tal y bont, Barmouth, admitted he was intoxicated and said he had been at his office Christmas party and had been drinking since 3pm. He apologised for his actions.
Magistrates fined Williams £150 for the assault and told him to pay £50 compensation to Mr Rowlands.
He was also fined £300 and disqualified from driving for two years. He was also ordered to pay £115 costs.
